Rose and Thorn Awards

The purpose of the awards is to promote outstanding customer service in partnership with R.E.A.D.I. Workforce Training System, Inc. Winning Customer Service training program.

 The Rose Award is for outstanding customer service as write up and nominated by a customer.

 The Thorn Award would be given for the poorest customer service reported by a customer.

 The awards will be given monthly.  Both awards would be announced at the monthly R.E.A.D.I. radio show and submitted to local papers for publication.
The Rose Award would consist of a cash award ($20.00) given monthly with a certificate to the individual who performed outstanding customer service and was nominated by a customer.  The Thorn Award ($5.00) would be given to the individual who submits the worst customer service award for the month.

 The Program will run for one year, beginning January 2010.

Winter 2010 Course at Hardin MT
 
Arc Welding Class is scheduled to begin in February at Hardin High School. Registration deadline is January 25, 2010.  Cost is $850.00 This 60 hour course, is offored in the evenings from  6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday and Wednesday evenings.   The welding processes utilized in this course will be shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) commonly referred to as stick welding.   Common welding symbols and techniques leading to AWS (American Welding Society Certification) will also be covered.  The instructor will follow AWS guidelines and materials in teaching, which will enhance your ability to become certified, if so desired. It is not necessary that you desire to become certified to participate.   AWS certification is up to the individual student and they are responsible for the cost of becoming certified for their own needs.  An AWS certifying official may address the class and work with students to help them prepare welds for submission leading to certification.  Most employers will require that certification be done for specific types of welds and under their working conditions.  The course is open to anyone, however it is preferred that participants have some welding experience. 
Students will spend approximately 50 hours completing welding exercises with various electrodes, materials, and welding processes.  The remaining time will be spent on safety, demonstrations, guest presenters, video presentations and short lectures. 
Belgrade Winter 2010 Courses
CDL Commercial Drivers License   Students can start the course immediately following registration and completion of Medical and Drug testing. The instruction is on-line.  On-line instruction requires that trainees be able to utilize Adobe Acrobat Reader, and E-mail. Completion of this class will get you a job immediately, in most cases. Arc Welding: Class will be conducted February 8 - April 14 at Belgrade High School. This 60 hour course, is offored in the evenings from  6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Cost is $800.00

MIG & TIG Welding:
  Class will be conducted February 8  - April 14 at Belgrade High School.This 60 hour course, is offored in the evenings from  6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Cost is $875.00. Learn basic or advanced welding techniques for mild steel, stainless steel and other steel alloys using GTAW and GMAW processes.  Develop an understanding of the gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc processes and the key variables affecting quality of welds.   Instruction will be modified to meet specific needs of enrollees. 
GTAW TIG Aluminum Welding: Beginning to intermediate welders   Class will be conducted February 16 - March 2 at Belgrade High School. This 18-hour course for beginning to intermediate aluminum welders will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.. Cost is $440.00
Skills taught will be Aluminum TIG welding in all positions and safety precautions.   A minimum of four and maximum of six enrollees are required. 
 AutoCAD Course: The course will be taught February 2 - March 4 at Belgrade High School. Class will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.  Cost is $320.00. A 30 hour course using the latest versions of AutoCAD.  Students will learn to use the AutoCAD software to construct both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional objects and correctly dimension them. Applications to the construction trade will be presented.  Students will spend the majority of the course completing AutoCAD exercises using the program.  Typically the class will involve the instructor giving a short demonstration on the program followed by students completing various drawings.  A one year student license for the software ($180) can be purchased for use at home.
Architectural and Ornamental Metal Design:   This course will be taught February 23 - April 8, 2010 at the Belgrade High School. The class will meet from 6:30 P.M.- 9:00 P.M.. Cost is $525.00. A 35 hour course, 6 hours of lab and 29 hours of classroom work,  designed to prepare individual to enter into the design part of the blacksmithing trade or to become self employed producing ornamental design projects from metal.  Major parts of the course will include safety, designing and sketching, heating and bending stock, estimating material costs, layout costs, finishing costs and labor costs, install products constructed, bidding projects, recognizing limitations of designs, development of customer relations, work with architects and builders, and develop a sales process.  Students will learn about the basic tools required to enter into the trade and how to build their own tools for certain designs.  Participants will spend six hours in a Blacksmith shop forming metal into a design created by the student. Examples of design projects include; hinges, curtain rod hangers, rails, drawer pulls, etc.  The remainder of the time will be spent in the classroom, developing those skills mentioned above. A minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 6 students are required for the course. 
Woodworking Techniques: This class will be conducted February 8 - April 21, 2010 at Belgrade Middle School.  Class will be conducted Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.. Cost is $650.00, excluding cost of wood for personal projects.  In this 55 hour course: instruction will incorporate different joints, inlays, raised panels and different types of hardwood;  how to plan and design wood projects; and how to use woodworking power equipment to mill and shape pieces of wood.  Types of finishing materials will be included as students design and build their projects.  Enrollee's are required to purchase their own wood materials for their projects.   Enrollee's should have basic woodworking skills as a prerequisite.
Coming Classes
Introduction to Residential Electrical Wiring:  Class will be conducted when sufficient interest is expressed. 
A 18-hour course designed for those individuals who are interested in becoming an electrician, a construction worker that needs to make electrical connections, or home owner who wants to do their own electrical wiring under the inspection of an electrician.

Hospitality Skills Training: This class is currently waiting for industry approval and support.  Please check back for registration deadline and class schedule.
This is a 50-hour course divided into the following areas in the Hospitality Industry:  Hospitality Careers; Professionalism; Guest Services; Room Division; Safety and Security; and a 240-hour paid internship at a Montana hotel and lodging facility.
Introduction to Mechanics:  This class will be taught when sufficient enrollment is obtained.  Please call us to determine the status. Cost is $495.  The class will be held at Ford New Holland in Belgrade.  In this 40 hour course, trainees will learn the basic principles of electronics, hydraulics and mechanical systems in preparation for a career as a technician working on various types of automotive, agricultural and industrial equipment. Trainees should be available for immediate employment.  Enrollment is limited to 4 to 6 students.
